Activity timeline

Every event on a candidate in one chronological feed.

The Activity tab in the candidate detail panel shows a chronological feed of every event related to this application. It's the single source of truth for what happened, when, and who did it.

What appears in the timeline

  • Application submitted - when the candidate applied and through which channel
  • Stage changes - every move between stages, with from/to stage names and who moved them
  • Emails sent - outbound messages with subject, status (sent, delivered, opened), and who initiated them
  • Emails received - inbound replies from the candidate
  • Interviews - scheduled, rescheduled, and cancelled interviews
  • Field changes - updates to candidate or application data, with before/after values
  • Workflow actions - automated actions tagged with the workflow name

Event details

Each event shows:

  • A human-readable title and description
  • The actor (team member name, candidate, or system/automation)
  • Timestamp
  • For updates: the specific fields that changed with old and new values

Automation vs manual actions

Events triggered by workflow automations display the workflow name and are visually distinguished from manual actions. This makes it easy to see which actions were human decisions and which were automated.

The timeline is append-only. Events cannot be edited or deleted. If an action needs to be corrected, a new correction event is added that references the original.
