Candidate fields

Fields shared across all of a candidate's applications.

Candidate fields are scoped to the candidate record, not to a specific application. When a candidate applies to multiple positions, their candidate field values are shared.

Common candidate fields

  • Phone - stored in E.164 format with a country picker and national formatting
  • Location - city autocomplete with structured storage (city, country, country code)
  • LinkedIn URL - URL with regex validation for LinkedIn profile format
  • GitHub URL - URL with regex validation for GitHub profile format
  • Website URL - free-form URL

Behavior

When a candidate applies to a second position and submits a phone number, the value updates on their candidate record. The old value is preserved in the audit trail as a field change event.

Candidate fields are the right choice for contact information and profile links that don't change between applications.

Managing candidate fields

Go to Settings → Data model and select the Candidates object type. You'll see all candidate-scoped fields with the ability to add, edit, reorder, and deactivate them.
