Default hiring stages
Configure the stage template used for new positions.
The default hiring stages define the pipeline template new positions inherit when created.
Default stages

Customizing defaults
Go to Settings → Stages to modify the default pipeline:
- Rename stages - change "Phone Screen" to "Initial Call" or "On-site" to "Technical Round"
- Reorder stages - drag stages to change their order
- Change colors - pick a color for each stage to help with visual identification
Changes to the default stages only affect future positions. Existing positions keep their own stage configuration. To update an existing position's stages, edit them from the position's Settings tab.
Stage type constraints
Every pipeline must have exactly one of each special type:
- One Inbox stage (where new applications land)
- One Hired stage (terminal stage for accepted offers)
- One Archived stage (terminal stage for rejected/withdrawn candidates)
Active stages can be added, removed, and reordered freely.
