Position settings
Departments, compensation, team assignments, and advanced configuration.
Each position has a Settings tab where you can configure details that affect both the public careers page listing and the internal recruiting workflow.
General settings
Fields you can update after creation:
- Title - changing the title also updates the slug (and redirects the old URL)
- Department - reassign the position to a different department
- Location - update the location string
- Employment type - change between full-time, part-time, contract, and internship
- Description - edit the rich-text job description
Compensation
Compensation fields can be added or updated at any time. When all compensation fields are cleared, the section is hidden from the careers page.
- Salary minimum and maximum
- Currency (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.)
- Pay unit (year, month, hour)
Team assignments
Under the Team section, you can add org members to the position. This controls two things:
- Visibility - Members (non-admin role) can only see positions they're assigned to.
- Notifications - Assigned members receive notifications for new applications and stage changes.
Admins and Owners see all positions regardless of assignment, but they can still opt into notifications by assigning themselves.
Pipeline customization
Each position maintains its own copy of the hiring stages. You can:
- Rename stages (e.g. change "On-site" to "Technical Interview")
- Change stage colors for visual organization
- Reorder stages to match this role's specific process
Adding or removing stages from a position's pipeline is done through the org-level stage settings. Position-level customization is limited to renaming, recoloring, and reordering.
Danger zone
- Close position - stops accepting new applications. The listing stays visible on the careers page with a notice.
- Archive position - removes the listing from the careers page. Existing applications and candidate data are preserved.
Archiving a position doesn't delete candidate data. You can reopen an archived position by setting its status back to Draft or Open.
